The group name came from a 1944 Charlie Barnet recording called, Skyliner , made on Decca. A little known fact, there had been a group previously calling themselves, The Skyliners , who were the featured vocal group with Ray Anthony His Orchestra in the early 1950's. • Since I Don't Have You was featured in the 1973 film, American Graffiti and the 1983 science-fiction film, Strange Invaders . Both films starred actor, Paul Le Mat . • The Skyliners appeared on Dick Clark's American Bandstand on Friday, February 13, 1959, where they performed, Since I Don't Have You . The song first hit the charts on February 16, 1959, peaked at #12 stayed on the charts for 19 weeks.
