Shade Grown Green Tea — or Gyokuro (玉露), which means “jade dew”— is known as one of Japan’s finest teas. Once per year, the tea leaves are shaded from sunlight at least 20 days before harvest for a sweeter and less astringent tea. As a result, this tea very high in natural caffeine and tastes soft and mild with umami flavor. Gyokuro is considered rare, even in Japan. • HOW TO BREW GYOKURO: • 1. Heat fresh, filtered water until boiled. • 2. Pour water into cups to warm the cup and cool down the water for 5 minutes. You can also use a yuzamashi water cooler. • 3. Pour water over tea leaves. Recommended water temperature for high-grade Gyokuro is 122°F (50°C)-140°F (50°C). Try different brew times and temperatures to find your preference. • 4. Steep for 1.5-3 minutes. All of our teas can be steeped up to 3 times. • ▶️ EXPLORE MORE • Gyokuro Isshin: https://senbirdtea.com/product/gyokur... • Gyokuro Shade-Grown Green Tea: https://senbirdtea.com/teatype/gyokur... • ----------------------------------- • 🍵 SHOP WITH US • Website: https://senbirdtea.com/ • Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/senbird/ • Etsy: https://www.etsy.com/shop/SenbirdTea • ✨ STAY CONNECTED • Instagram: / senbirdtea • Facebook: / senbirdtea • TikTok: / senbirdtea • Pinterest: / senbirdtea • ----------------------------------- • Music: The Warden by Joey Pecoraro
