The former signal box, which would've previously housed a signaller to operate the manual gates and signalling here, is now disused but still standing as it has been since this level crossing was fully-renewed during re-signalling in December 2012. It now has an obstacle detection system consisting of RADAR to scan for larger objects that could pose a risk to trains, LIDAR's to scan for pedestrians and cyclists, and both of these perform scans of the level crossing as it lowers, a largely-automatic procedure set in motion by an approaching train 'striking in'. Once the system proves the crossing is clear, the signals over it can be cleared and the trains allowed past. • A pair of Norwich-bound stopping services are seen in this video, both running late. • Train details sourced from: • Real Time Trains: https://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/sear... • Open Train Times: https://www.opentraintimes.com/maps • Traksy: https://traksy.uk/live • Thanks for watching!
