Dr. Jagdish Chaturvedi is recognized as one of the 35 young innovators under the age of 35, by the MIT Technology Review, 2016. • From the very first minute he came on stage, Dr. Chaturvedi was very ENT-ertaining. In this TEDx talk, he narrates his story about how he was able to invent more than 18 medical devices even before he aged 32 years, Adding a touch of humour to his words, he discusses on how his early practice in rural areas inspired him to make medical treatments cost-effective and then led him to inventing these devices. • Even though I invented some good devices, my mentor thought that I was just barking about all of it. So, I wrote a book! He concludes by saying that no idea is big or small, if you think it can bring a good change. • Dr Jagdish Chaturvedi is a 32 year old ear, nose and throat surgeon credited with several affordable medical inventions. In August, he made it to the annual list of the ‘Innovators under 35’ list of the prestigious MIT Technology Review, a magazine published by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, for the year 2016 in the humanitarian category. • He was inspired to create something entirely unconventional when he witnessed several cases in rural areas where the farmers with throat cancer were too late in consulting a doctor for the disease. He observed that this was mainly due to the primitive methods of ‘self medication’ taken up by the villagers. Mr. Chaturvedi had a rough sailing in the beginning when he was in search of an engineer and a designer who could help him turn his dream into reality. What emerged was a result of his persistent hard work and determination-Ear Nose Throat Multiscope Recorder.
