Keeping aircraft fit for flight exclusive Ljubljana maintenance tour

In this video we visit the second MRO in the AviaPrime group: Adria Tehnika in Ljubljana, Slovenia. This facility specializes in the CRJ and A320 family aircraft so we get up close and personal with a handle of these going through heavy maintenance checks. From deep inside the belly looking at the wiring behind the computers to looking at the critical structures that make up the cockpit window frames, there’s a lot of detail to enjoy here. • Our tour guide for this one has been here since 1974 so he’s seen nearly 50 years of development. Adria Tehnika has four hangars here and is currently considering building a 5th hangar which would increase their capacity a further 50%. These days the number of CRJs in commercial service is diminishing. Over in the A320 hangar, things are looking a lot busier. • Among the thousands of parts needed to make an airplane work – there’s also the more mundane pieces to consider, such as flooring. And they’ve got stocks of that too here of course, whatever their customers use, they stock it here so they can easily install it once the heavy checks are done with. • At Adria Tehnika they’ve also recently developed the capability to repair what’s called the mirror fitting and the pistol fitting, both of which are critical parts in the cockpit windshield structure.
