The first activation is shown at 6:10 • This is the Back Brawlin Road level crossing at Cootamundra NSW. These signals were installed on 3 - 4 May 1997 with the crossing being officially opened on October 14, 1997. It replaced a nearby underpass which was prone to flooding and is also named Bob Dear's Crossing , although I'm not sure who Bob Dear is, or why the crossing is named after him. • These are the original signals which are still largely intact. Both gated signals have unmarked bases, Western Cullen Hayes gate mechanisms (with Harmon counterweight arms) and Western Cullen Hayes lights which are mounted on WRRS junction boxes. The gateless signal has Western Cullen Hayes lights which are mounted on a Westinghouse bracket. • The southern side of the crossing has a Western Cullen Hayes mechanical bell which rings until the gates lower, while on the northern side is a Safetran Type 3 electronic bell which replaced the original WCH mechanical bell a couple of years ago. • Train information: • 1st train: 3332N grain from The Rock to Harden (then Nowra), with locomotives 8142 and 8179. Filmed on November 20, 2017. • 2nd train: Locomotives 8109 and 8180 are towing a flour hopper from Narrandera to Cootamundra for repairs as train number 3338. Filmed on November 20, 2017. • 3rd train: 3MW2 empty steel from Melbourne to Port Kembla via Sydney, with locomotives NR4, NR49 and AN11. Filmed on November 21, 2017.
