The Elevator , written by Zacharia Lorenz, a senior in the University of Arizona's School of Theatre, Film, and Television, is based around a young, neurotic cubicle worker named Sam. Every day Sam takes the same elevator, up and down his office building, to and from work. Monotony is his middle name. Until one day, a new woman shows up and becomes a regular companion on his daily ascents. Some call it love at first sight but in Sam's world it's called a total inhibition of his mental and physical abilities to communicate with her. Day after day he struggles for just a teaspoon of her attention but every time he tries to talk to her everything goes wrong. Maybe it's not meant to be. Or maybe Sam just needs to find the courage to be himself.
