I have installed the 5.29 gears and after about 1k miles, it's time to tow! With our boat, which weights about 5K pounds, the Tacoma does ok with the weight for short distances. If I had to go on a longer distance, I'm sure it could do it no problem, but the shifting would be constant. The truck likes to get up to about 4k rpm and even goes down to 3rd gear at some points. With the new gears, the truck barely goes over 3k, depending on the speed and hill, but it stays much lower and uses 4th, 5th and even 6th gear which is very exciting to see! While I won't say it does any better performance wise at towing heavy loads, it definitely helps with the hunting gears problem and I feel it can tow that weight better even though it's close to it's max rating. If you are planning on towing heavy trailers a lot, I wouldn't recommend the Tacoma for that, it's a great truck and can do light towing when needed and if you do plan on towing a lot, the gears are definitely helpful! • ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ • 👋About this channel: What's Up Everybody!
