With the achievement of independence after World War II, about 12 African countries adopted the use of green yellow red colors of their flags which were later known as the Pan-African movement and PAIGC colors. Other countries that also use the same color are the Republic of Lithuania located in the Baltic region of Europe and Bolivia in central-south America. • This video is available in written format here at https://soccergist.net/2021/01/14-cou... • List of Green Yellow Red flag Country (Pan-African colors) • 0:00 - Channel Intro • 0:10 - Introduction to Pan African colors • 0:30 - Green, yellow and red flag meaning • 1:46 - The Ethiopia flag • 2:40 - Mali flag • 3:09 - Senegal flag • 3:46 - Lithuania flag • 4:33 - Benin flag • 5:15 - Togo flag • 5:57 - Guinea flag • 6:19 - Cameroon flag • 7:03 - Ghana flag • 7:43 - Guinea-Bissau flag • 8:16 - Burkina Faso flag • 8:50 - Republic of the Congo Flag • 9:31 - Bolivia flag • 9:55 - Sao Tome and Príncipe flag • What does the green, yellow and red color flag mean and symbolizes: • Thus, black clearly represents the skin color of the majority of the inhabitants of these countries. Green represents the huge forests and nature of the continent. Red recalls the blood of those who died to achieve the independence of each country, as well as those who were enslaved since the 16th century. Finally, yellow represents the mineral wealth of Africa, which was so coveted by Europeans. • The Pan-African colors are derived in turn from a historical flag: that of the oldest country in Africa, Ethiopia, which was an empire from the 13th century until 1974. It had the colors green, yellow, and red with a lion in the center. This country was one of two that survived European colonization in the 19th century (the other was Liberia, protected by the United States) and was only occupied by fascist Italy for a few years, between 1936 and 1941.
