Day'Ron Sharpe put together a very productive 2020-21 season for the Tar Heels, finishing 2nd in voting for the ACC Freshman of the Year and 6th Man of the Year awards. Sharpe led the NCAA in offensive rebound percentage and led the league in offensive rebounds with 3.5 boards on that end of the floor per game. The freshman big man finished the season 2nd on the team in total rebounds with 7.8 per game and blocks with 25, while finishing 3rd in steals and 4th in scoring at 9.5 points per game.
