Osmosis • Osmosis is a special type of diffusion concerned with liquids. This is the most familiar process. Let's consider water and a sugar solution which are separated by a semi permeable membrane, there is the diffusion of water molecules into sugar solution. Thus the flow of solvent molecules from a region of higher concentration to a region of lower concentration through a semi permeable membrane is called osmosis.
