These models of Iguanodon were unveiled in 1854, they the first dinosaur sculptures in the world! • The models were designed and sculpted by Benjamin Waterhouse Hawkins, he under the scientific direction of the then very-esteemed and well-respected Sir Richard Owen, he representing the latest scientific knowledge at the time. • In the 1850s, very few dinosaur skeletons had been discovered, let alone scientifically studied.
