Nigeria Airways Flight 2120 a DC-8 was a flight between Jeddah, Saudi Arabia and Sokoto, Nigeria on July 11, 1991 with 261 people on DC-8 with killed. The aircraft departed Jeddah, as problems were reported shortly afterwards. The aircraft had caught fire during departure and was not known by the crew straight away. Pressurisation failed and there were various circuit failures caused by the fire. The aircraft maintained 3,000 feet and attempted to return to Jeddah. The fire then began to spread into the cabin. When the aircraft was 18 kilometres from the runway, the plane slowly began to disintegrate in mid-air, with the fire consuming part of the cabin floor. The aircraft then became uncontrollable and crashed killing all on board.
