Kunti is a legendary drama serial in the history of Doordarshan. It is the largest viewed channel in India, and it has improved its status by broadcasting Kunti in the prime time slot. Kuntee TV Serial was premiered on Doordarshan's DD Metro Channel in year 2002, as a part of its revamp. It is a story of an ambitious girl Kuntee (Played by Geeta Tyagi) from an orthodox family. Interested in music and dance, the protagonist faces a staunch opposition from her father (Played by Lalit Tiwari). She’s an ambitious but singularly ill-fated girl who lives with her tyrannical father. What would be Manasi's decision regarding her marriage? • Manasi, Zaveri's loving daughter is engaged to the most eligible bachelor, Jai, who belongs to the affluent Rai family. The Rai family is extremely happy to see Manasi as their daughter-in-law. To attend a Pooja organized for the about-to-be-married couple, the vivacious Manasi goes to Mumbai. But, she returns with a gloom on her face. Soon, she finds herself pregnant after being raped by Jai. Now, all dejected, Manasi is caught in a great dilemma, either to walk out of marriage and face the harsh world, or to spend the rest of her life with the very man who abused her existence as a woman.
