Festool CT Cyclone Review Not Great

My first reaction was one of curiosity since most cyclone separators are fairly bulky with a large conical shape. Festool's offering is very Festool and looks to a Rubbermaid tote sandwiched between two Systainers. I use multiple CT Vacs in my shop and it would be great to have something that's fairly compact, attaches directly to the CT vac, and gives me the option of putting additional Systainers on top of the stack. Unfortunately, after hooking the CT Cyclone to my vac, I immediately notices a loss in suction. This prompted further investigation. To spoil the ending, it's not all bad news. If you typically use the small hose with your vac you'll notice a typical amount of suction loss and it's by no means a deal-breaker. But if you use the larger hose, like I do, you might be better served with one of the other cyclone separators that have already been on the market for years: such as the Oneida Dust Deputy or the ClearVue CV Mini.
