The song “Girl, You’ll Be a Woman Soon” was composed and recorded by Neil Diamond in 1967, just when he was starting out. With its unique melody and unconventional tempo, it’s always been one of my favorites. A quarter of a century after, the Chicago band Urge Overkill covered the song in 1992.
