In October 1972, a plane carrying a Uruguayan rugby team crashed into the Andes mountains. Of the 45 people onboard, 29 survived the initial crash, but their ordeal was far from over. Stranded in the freezing mountains, with little hope of rescue, the survivors were forced to make unimaginable decisions to stay alive. After enduring avalanches, frostbite, and starvation, the survivors ultimately resorted to cannibalism, eating the bodies of those who had perished. • After more than two months in isolation, 16 survivors were finally rescued, thanks to the efforts of two men who trekked for 10 days to find help. The story of the Andes crash is a powerful testament to the will to survive, even under the most extreme conditions, and continues to raise ethical and moral questions about human endurance and the lengths one will go to for survival. • Thanks for exploring through @SpookScope !
