In individual biathlon, a male biathlete runs a distance of 20km while the female runs over 15 km. • In this event, athletes are required to shoot four targets each in five laps of skiing. • B. In Sprint Biathlon, male biathletes run a distance of 10 km while the female runs over 7.5km. • In this event, athletes are required to shoot two targets each in three laps of skiing. • C. In pursuit Biathlon, male biathletes run a distance of 12.5 km while the female runs over 10km. • In this event, athletes are required to accompany their leader and patch up ground to be the first to cross the finishing line. • In this event, athletes are required to perform four shooting bouts in five laps of skiing. • The biathletes team up when the target area of the race approaches. • D. In Relay Biathlon, male biathletes run a distance of 4 x 7.5 km while the female runs over 4 x 6 km • All biathletes start from the same place and after completing their course they touch their teammate who continues the race. • In this event, every athlete is required to perform two shooting bouts in three laps of skiing. • E.
