One of the great things to upgrade an old bike is the drivetrain. Some people might want 10-speed and some might want singlespeed, it all depends on your preferences. • Today I’m going to replace the square taper bottom bracket, which is originally equipped with this 1994 Trek 720 Multitrack, to Hollowtech II in order to mount the new crankset. • The removal of the old bottom bracket is pretty straight forward, the bike hasn’t been left outside, so no major corrosion has affected to the removal of the components. • Before taking out the old bottom bracket, both crank arms have to be removed. • There are different cup diameters of Hollowtech bottom brackets, the most common sizes are 42 and 44 mm, this Shimano Ultegra is 42 mm. • The first impression after the install is the smoothness of the cranks. It used to have some resistance to the crankset, but now I couldn’t feel it, the spinning is much improved and I’m very impressed with that. • Parts installed: • Shimano Ultegra SM-BBR60 Bottom Bracket 68/70 mm Shell • Raceface Cadence X-Type Double Crankset 53/39t • Track: Lofi Mallet - Kwon • #trek #shimano #hollowtech • Danyo Sports Channel Episode 73 • Youtube:    / danyosports   • Reddit:   / danyosports   • Facebook:   / danyosports   • Instagram:   / danyosports   • Twitter:   / danyosports
