Paul Wheelock speaks to Leeds United expert Conor McGilligan about Brazilian winger Raphinha, who was linked with a summer move to Liverpool. • A report from Melissa Reddy in The Independent this week revealed that Reds scouts first spotted Raphinha’s talents in 2016 at the renowned Copa Sao Paulo junior football tournament • . • They have kept their eye on the Brazilian winger ever since and his excellent debut campaign in the Premier League for Leeds, in which he scored six goals and set up nine more in 30 appearances, led Liverpool to being strongly linked with his signature in the transfer window that has just closed. • Of those 30 appearances, neither came against the Reds.
