This is my performance of Vivaldi's Piccolo Concerto in C Major, RV. 443, Mvmt 2: Largo . • . • I initially recorded this movement in February 2022 as part of my submission for the NFA Piccolo Artist 2022 Competition. • . • This piccolo concerto is a staple in Baroque repertoire as one of three piccolo concertos Vivaldi composed. This concerto is the most famous as it is often used in competitions, auditions, and performances. The first movement, Allegro, is a brisk and light movement creating energy propelling forward through the ascending and descending arpeggiated sequences. The lightness in articulation and direction makes the movement elegant.
