The Chronometre Optimum features several features that enhance its industry leading precision as a chronometer. • The FP Journe caliber 1510 is crafted from 18-karat rose gold, but its standout features are mechanical refinements. The Chronometre Optimum employs a remontoir d'egalite like the Tourbillon Souverain. This acts as a constant force device that maintains equal balance amplitude for the first 45 hours of the 70-hour power reserve. • The caliber 1510 is adjusted in six positions (versus 5 for a typical COSC chronometer), and it includes an overcoil hairspring to enable concentric breathing in any position with respect to gravity. This allows the watch to avoid running quickly or slowly in different orientations on the wrist. • FP Journe employs twin mainspring barrels in parallel in order to equalize torque release as the individual springs discharge. The dual direct impulse escapement is constructed from titanium components and operates without lubrication. The advantage of this system is reduced friction, improved amplitude, and improved power reserve. • The F.P. Journe Chronometre Optimum Black Label features a 40mm platinum case surrounding a black dial on a brand new black alligator strap with an platinum tang buckle. Functions include hours, minutes, small-seconds and power reserve indicator.
