THE TIMES • 1. Present • 2. Past • 3. Future • Hiroki Takahashi (2008) • I arranged my euphonium-tuba quintet The Times for wind ensemble. It consists of three movements, Present, Past, Future. • The first movement, Present, is a short overture. Past is a ballad in sepia as one reflects on what has been. Finally, Future represents anxious anticipation of what will be. I hope performers and audience might also blend meaningful events of their lives and loves along with the music. • Please note and emphasize time with Present, expressiveness for Past, and technique with Future.
