The cost of living continues to increase for South Africans, with the consumer inflation rate reaching a new 13-year high. Data from Stats SA data shows consumer inflation has continued on an upward trajectory, rising to an annual 7.8% in July, up from 7.4% the previous month. The main contributors were food and non-alcoholic beverages as well as electricity and transport.
