BENCH SQUATS A Quick Guide

Here is a brief and easy reference video to get started on squats with a seated surface (you can also call them box squats, seated squats, or chair squats……but I’m using a bench here, ha!) • I’m showing this modified version of the squat with the intention to perform the maximum range of motion for those of you that are beginners with knee or back pain, or if you have mobility issues. • You can also use a plyo box or a chair, just as long as the seat height is approximate to your knee height (or even just a bit higher if you have bad knees). You can also use the same principles if you plan to do a conventional box squat with heavier weight. • Shown in the video are versions with bodyweight and while holding dumbbells. • This exercise will target your quads and glutes, as well as eccentrically work your hamstrings. If necessary, you can use it as a “remedial” squat until you increase your strength and improve your movement and no longer need to use a seat. • • Be sure to subscribe to the JP Total Fitness channel, and follow on Facebook: •   / jptotalfitness   • • Download the JP Total Fitness app for it's exercise video library, free and premium workout routines, targeted 4 week programs, online training, and shopping for workout gear! • http://www.myfitnesstrainingapp.com/j... • • http://www.jptotalfitness.com
