Many people think of robots as machines that look and act like people. Most robots, though, do not look like people. And robots do only what a person has built them to do. • • You see how important Robots are! • What would be more interesting to know is how do robots work? • • Similar to Humans, robots have 3 main parts – controller or the brain, like our brain who tell us what to do, with a difference robots cnat think on its own , its bbrain is nothing but a computer program. • 1. the program is very detailed as it give commands for the moving parts of the robot to follow. • Secondly like our hands/legs, robots too have mechanical or moving parts like: • 2. Mechanical parts ‐ motors, pistons, grippers, wheels, and gears that make the robot move, grab, turn, and lift. These parts are usually powered by air, water, or electricity. • Finally they have Sensors ‐ to tell the robot about its surroundings. Sensors allow the robot to determine sizes, shapes, space between objects. Sensors on the robot send signals about all this to the computer. The computer stores the pattern of movements and other data. Later the computer can retrieve the pattern and tell the robot what to do. This is AI, so you think that robot is tinking, but its AI, that computer is feeding to robot based on data it has sensed and sent. • • Free learning videos and resources for students.
