If a gorgeous setting is what you yearn for, there is no better place to be than Tenaya Lake on a windless day, with water so still one can see flawless reflections of the majestic mountains. Surrounded by granite peaks on three sides, Tenaya Lake’s sparkling blue water and two-and-a-half miles of shoreline offer a short, leisurely hike. • Towering pines and granite outcroppings bordering the water’s edge deliver extraordinary views. The exhilaration of this scenic alpine lake provides an unforgettable experience for adventure seekers. • Tenaya Lake is a wonderland combination of activity and tranquility that will both relax and excite you. It is a tiny lake, but what it lacks in size, it makes up for in beauty. Known for outstanding hiking opportunities, in recent years this enchanting alpine lake has drawn many adventure enthusiasts. • Tenaya Lake is located in a region of astonishing beauty, at 8,150’ elevation in Yosemite National Park, between Yosemite Valley and Toulumne Meadows on Tioga Pass Road, which closes in the wintertime. The paddling season is typically in the months of June to October, depending on when the snow melts. • Tioga Pass Road passes along the lake's northern edge so the lake is hard to miss. With limited parking on both sides of the lake and primitive restroom facilities, the crowd factor is usually not as much of a problem as you might experience at other lakes within Yosemite National Park during the summer months. • Tenaya Lake is about 15 miles east of the Yosemite National Park east entrance, which receives an incredible 3.5 million visitors every year. Yosemite is known for its towering Giant Sequoias, spectacular granite cliffs, and waterfalls. • Sunrise or sunset are the perfect times to take photos of the surrounding terrain reflected on the glassy water. Even on gusty days, the wind typically tapers off in the early evening and is calm at first light. If you launch when the sun comes up, you will also enjoy cooler air temperatures. • Even with warm summer daytime temperatures, the lakcanoeing Tenaya Lake Yosemite National Parke’s water remains cold until the late summer. Hop into the water for a quick swim, if you don’t mind ice-cold water. Camping at Tenaya Lake is no longer available. The campground was closed in 1992 due to a failing septic system. • One of the treasures of a remote wilderness lake is to witness the sun sinking in the late afternoon and to watch the reflective images at sunrise on the water surface. The clarity of the water is spectacular, with shimmering hues of blue and green reminiscent of Lake Tahoe, but on a smaller, more intimate scale. • Tenaya Lake is a perfect paddling getaway, inviting you to enjoy the tranquility of a mountain lake. As you hike the park's trails and drive along scenic parkways, you don’t want to miss discovering the spectacular natural beauty of Tenaya Lake. • The night and early morning air temperature can be quite nippy, even in the middle of summer. Paddling around the lake is relatively easy during the morning and evening, but the winds tend to kick up in the early afternoon. Power boats are not allowed, which makes it a superb paddling destination to chill out and unwind away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. • Tenaya Lake offers a wide range of recreational activities from kayaking, canoeing, SUP boarding, fishing, swimming, photography, biking, and hiking. #yosemitenationalpark #yosemite #troutfishing • Please support my channel guys.
