In today’s video, I’m going to show you how to change the default apps in Windows 11. • Default apps are the programs that are set to run by default when opening a particular file type. • For example, when you click on a PDF file, adobe acrobat opens up, or when you click on a .mp3 file, the Windows media player opens up. These are all defined in your computer’s default apps settings. • To get started: • 1. Go into the Windows start bar, and type in “Default Apps”, and click on the “Default apps” search result. • 2. The default apps dialog window will now display. • 3. From this screen, there are two options that allow you to define your default apps. • 4. In the first section, you can set a default for a file type or link type. To do this, just type in a file type, for example “.mp3”, and you can see the default app which opens this file type. • 5. As you can see, this is the media player. If you would like to change this app, you can click on the app, and this dialog window will now display, and you can select any other app on your computer to be the default for this file type. • 6. For the second section on this window, you can search for any application on your computer, and see the default file types it opens. • 7. For example, if I type in “Adobe Acrobat”, and click on it, you can see all of the file types Adobe Acrobat is set to open by default. • 8.If you would like to change a default file type from one program to another, you can click on the file type, and then from this dialog window, select another application from your computer. • And it’s as easy as that, changing the default apps in Windows 11 is an easy task to perform. • #defaultapps #defaultprogram #windows11
