Battlefield 2042 is the upcoming seventeenth installment in the Battlefield series developed by DICE and published by EA. The game was revealed on June 9th, 2021 and gameplay will be shown on June 13th, 2021. The game is set to release on October 15th, 2021 for EA Play members and those who purchase Gold and Ultimate Edition and on October 22nd, 2021 for all others. • Battlefield 2042 is multiplayer focused and has no single-player campaign, the first main series entry to not include one since Battlefield: Bad Company. However, similar to older entries in the series like Battlefield 2, players will have the option of playing against AI bots in either solo or co-op modes. • Certain multiplayer modes like Conquest and Breakthrough will support up to 128 players per server on ninth generation consoles and PC, the first game to support over 100 players in a single match since the Korean exclusive Battlefield Online.
