Over the years it saw refreshed redesigns, including ones from Milton Bradley and the game's new IP owner Hasbro. As far as video games are concerned, the first game based on it is Mouse Trap Hotel, a GameBoy exclusive platformer by Imagineering and Electro Brain, but it wasn't the straight adaptation of the original board game. In fact, the board game's digital adaptations were usually relegated to compilations. The first was the GBA compilation from 2005 that had Simon and Operation, a 2007 DS compilation that came with Clue, Perfection and Aggravation and finally EA's Hasbro Family Game Night 3 for Wii, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Ah, and there was also a Mouse Trap themed minigame on the long-defuct Hasbro Arcade app for iOS. It wouldn't be until 2023 where the game was finally given a standalone digital adapation of its own, when Marmalade Game Studio (who also did The Game of Life 2016 and its sequel) got Hasbro's blessing to do so. It first came out on Android in March, then on iOS a month later. The Switch version then came around in August, with the PlayStation 4 version finally releasing in October, all within the same year. It is yet to be released on Xbox One, though. • And in case you hadn't noticed, the game's AI opponents are named after famous mice and rats from animated movies and cartoons.
