Welcome to my channel! This is Andy from I love languages. Let's learn different languages/dialects together. • Sorani Kurdish, also known simply as Sorani, is a Central Kurdish dialect primarily spoken in Iraqi Kurdistan and western Iran, particularly in regions like Sulaymaniyah, Erbil, and Kermanshah. It is one of the two main dialects of Kurdish, alongside Kurmanji, and has official status in Iraq’s Kurdistan Region. Sorani is written in a modified Persian-Arabic script, distinguishing it from Kurmanji, which uses a Latin-based alphabet. This dialect serves as an important medium of communication and cultural expression for Kurds in Iraq and Iran, with an estimated 8 to 9 million speakers. Sorani has a rich literary tradition and is used in Kurdish media, literature, and education in the regions where it is spoken. • The Zaza, or Dımli, is an Iranic language spoken primarily in Anatolia, classified linguistically as a Northwestern Iranic language with Anatolian elements. Scholars suggest that Zaza evolved from a blend of languages originating from the Deylem region of northern Iran, with notable Parthian influences. Linguists observe similarities in vocabulary, grammar, and phonetic shifts that support the theory of Zaza as a descendant of these regional languages. UNESCO lists Zaza as an endangered language, highlighting the need for preservation. • This video is created for educational, language awareness, and language preservation purposes. It aims to provide valuable insights and knowledge to viewers, enhancing their understanding and appreciation of different languages and their unique characteristics. By raising awareness about linguistic diversity, the video seeks to foster a greater respect and recognition for various languages, particularly those that are endangered or underrepresented. Additionally, it contributes to the preservation of languages by documenting and sharing linguistic knowledge, thus ensuring that these languages and their cultural heritage are not lost to future generations. • Please feel free to subscribe to see more of this. • I hope you have a great day!
