Melomakarona • • Today we make crispy and honeyed melomakarona with semolina! One of the most delicious you have ever tasted! We wish you happy holidays and Merry Christmas! • • Κάντε ΕΓΓΡΑΦΗ στο κανάλι! 👉 http://bit.ly/2Hd7EEV • • 🥣 RECIPE • • Ingredients • • The recipe turns out 50 melomakarona • • For the syrup • 750 g sugar • 750 ml water • 1 cinnamon stick • 1 slice of orange • 200 g of honey • • For Melomakarona • 1 kg of flour • 150 grams of fine semolina • 250 g sugar • 500 ml olive oil • 100 grams of brandy • 250 ml orange juice • Zest 2 oranges • 1 teaspoon soda • 1 teaspoon baking powder • 3 teaspoons cinnamon • 1 teaspoon cloves • • Method • • We start our recipe by making the syrup first. Take a saucepan and add the sugar, water, orange and cinnamon. Boil the mixture for 10 minutes. • • Then turn off the stove, remove the orange from the pot and add the honey. Finally, let the syrup cool. • • Continue taking a bowl and sift the flour and then add the semolina and mix, as shown in the video . • • In another bowl, mix, add the sugar, olive oil, orange juice, brandy and the zest of 2 oranges and mix with a whisk. Then add the soda, baking powder, cinnamon, cloves and mix well. • • Continue in the same mixture and add the flour with the semolina gradually, stirring slowly, in order to make the mixture even with the olive oil and not to get separated. • • Once we have added all the flour, we will have a soft and pliable dough. Next, we take pieces of dough (we estimate they weigh about 40 grams) and shape them into an oval shape. We put them on a sieve and press them lightly, as the video shows. • • Then, lift the melomakarona, and gently roll the dough like a roll. • • Then, we take a pan, with non-stick paper and place the melomakarona one by one. Bake the melomakarona at 190 degrees Celsius, setting our oven on high and low resistance for 25 minutes. • • Once they are ready, take them out of the oven and dip them hot in the cold syrup, with a ladle, where we leave them for a while (about half a minute). Finally, take them out and place them in a pan. • • Finally, we grind them and sprinkle them with walnuts! • • Good luck!
