The North American Goldfinch makes so many sounds when they come to my backyard. They often come in groups looking for food from my thistle and sunflower feeder. The Goldfinch likes to sit high in the trees in the yard, on my bird feeder poles, also on the many bushes planted throughout the yard. • This is another video of many of the goldfinches I have recorded in my backyard chirping away singing a song. This American Goldfinch was sitting in a tree in my yard. I am glad I was able to capture this video of this bird doing its thing. • I get a lot of American Goldfinches that come to my backyard. I know when they are there because of the sound they make when they call other birds. • The American Goldfinch is a small yellow and black bird with white on its wings. The male American Goldfinches. When the American Goldfinches come to my yard I often see them eating sunflower seeds and eat Thistle seed from my bird feeders. They come in groups to my bird feeders, sometimes there are too many to count. • Adult male American Goldfinches in the spring and early summer are bright yellow with a black forehead, black wings with white markings.
