In 2016, North Carolina voters passed the Connect NC bond package which included $58 million to grow a second campus of the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics in Morganton (NCSSM). Planning commenced in late-2016 with the hiring of an architectural firm, educational program design consultants, and a planning director. NCSSM will open its second campus in 2021 with an initial enrollment of 300 students. This video provides an introduction to the project and features a number of contributors to the advance planning process. • NCSSM, a publicly funded high school in North Carolina, provides exciting, high-level STEM learning opportunities.
