Monoclonal Antibodies is BIOLOGY ONLY content - it is not needed for the Combined Science specification.** • We’ll start with how monoclonal antibodies are made in the lab. I’ll introduce the words lymphocyte and hybridoma - these are important to learn. • Then we’ll move onto the uses of monoclonal antibodies - there are 4 main ones to learn - you don’t need to know any details, but you could be given extra information to use to explain how they work. This is an application type of question. • Finally, we’ll look at the advantages of MABs over conventional drugs and the one big drawback of them. • To finish up, I’ll test you with some quick question to see what you’ve understood - a six mark question describing how they are made and used is possible. • I really hope this video helps that you’ve enjoyed revising with me - let me know if there are any other videos you’d like to see! • Did you find this useful?
