Good morning everyone and welcome to todays UK weather forecast on Tuesday 17th September 2024. • Current Situation: A huge area of high pressure is sitting over the top of the country bringing loads if dry, sunny and warm weather... • Today: • Tuesday begins mostly dry with clear spells and variable cloud across the majority of the country. There's a few light showers through northern and western Scotland and some dense fog patches for parts of Wales, the Midlands and eastern England. It's a mild start for most of Scotland but colder elsewhere. • Through the rest of the day any fog will quickly burn off and most places will have a dry day with bags of sunshine. Watch out for some patchy cloud at times for western Scotland and southeastern England. • Temperatures will be warm at 15C to 21C. • Tonight: • All places stay dry but cloud will roll into southern and eastern counties while the north and west has clear spells though there could be some fog patches through Wales and northern England. Will be very mild in northern and southern regions at 10C to 14C but cool in central areas at 6C to 10C. • Tomorrow: • Southern and eastern regions start with a lot of cloud but that should burn off to reveal plenty of sunshine while northern and western areas have bags of sunshine from the word go after any early fog has burned off. • Temperatures will be warm or very warm with a range from 17C to 24C. • • Outlook: • Thursday: Dry and very warm with bags of sunshine. • Friday: Dry in the north but some scattered thundery showers in the south. Warm. • Saturday: Thundery showers becoming more widespread in the south.
