Traveling westbound on Maryland Route 100 from westbound on Maryland Route 177 in Jacobsville to southbound on US Route 29 in Columbia. • Maryland Route 100 is a vital expressway running northwest to southeast linking many major arteries and freeways to each other in the Central Maryland region. MD-100 was first designated in the 1970s, but only the easternmost portion existed, and most MD-100 that exists today was not built until the '90s. The freeway is named for Paul T. Pitcher, an Anne Arundel County executive who conceived the freeway. The combined shape of MD-100 and the northernmost few miles of US-29 form a partial outer beltway for Baltimore. • Exits and Landmarks: • 0:05 MD-177 (Mountain Road){Eastern Terminus} • 0:30 Magothy Beach Road • 1:20 MD-607 (Magothy Bridge Road) • 4:16 MD-10 (Arundel Expressway) • 5:04 MD-177 (Mountain Road) • 5:32 MD-2 (Gov.
