When importing the files, you HAVE to right click on the printmanagement.msc program and run as administrator!! Otherwise it will not properly import. Even an administrative account, you still need to do this. • This is the easiest way to transfer printers in windows! I can't believe that i just figured this out not too long ago, so I decided to share and hopefully help others out. Please remember that you cannot export printers from one version of windows and import them into an older version, however you can export them from an older version and move up to a newer version. • Step 1: Click on the start bar or go to the search in printmanagement.msc • Step 2: Right click on the top level Print Management text and select Migrate Printers • Step 3: Choose if you are exporting or importing and follow the rest of the steps.
