It covers an area of 19'485 km2 (350 km by 60 km), almost the size of Wales (UK) (20'735 km2), Kruger is one of the largest natural game reserves in Africa. • Founded in 1926, the park was called Sabie Game Reserve and now bears the name of the person who created it, Paul Kruger. • Kruger Park is now grouped together with Gonarezhou National Park in Zimbabwe and with Limpopo National Park in Mozambique in the Great Limpopo Transfrontier Park.
