Upgrade of the Creality CR-10 3d printer with 32-bit control board SKR 1.3 and silent stepper drivers TMC2208 V3.0, controlled by serial link (UART). The video shows the wiring and the installation of the board and the basic firmware configuration for Marlin 2.0. • Update: The SKR V1.3 is not in sale anymore. BigTreeTech just launched a new version of SKR (V1.4) with some improvements over 1.3 and possibility to add 5v DC-DC module for neopixels /TFT, wifi module and writer module for firmware flashing. • Check it out: https://s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_AlNXcU • Noctua silent 40mm x 10mm fan: https://amzn.to/30uYVE8 • Mounting adapter for the control box: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:348... • Other information: • I didn't activate the onboard SD card, because I'm using Octoprint. • If you are still printing through SD, you may need an extention cable or a new display with SD card reader. • To pass the USB cable I drilled a hole in the control box - check the pictures for the installation in the video. • Updates: • For the extruder I'll be installing either TMC2209 or A4988 driver (ordered), because I cant get linear advance to work reliably on the TMC2208 with steltchop. It does work with the square wave activated, but I feel my extruder stepper is getting hotter. Running TMC2208 on spreadcycle without linear advance on the extruder is stable. • I will update this description and the project page https://3dpblog.com/skr-32bit-control... with any additional findings about this setup. Thanks for watching.
