I recently went to Phuket, Thailand and I brought my paints with me. I wanted to paint a tropical beach and some palm trees I went to Kata Beach and I decided to paint the beach outdoors, known as painting 'en plein air'. • As well as studio painting I also love painting outdoors as I think its a great way of documenting the places I've been to...but in paintings. Outdoor painting known as painting 'en plein air' really captures the atmosphere and feeling of a place and it'll help you improve your painting skills. • It was a hot, sunny and hazy day and what with Thailand being in the tropics, it's very humid.
