How to light an OxyAcetylene Torch Design at Loughborough University

Designers need to understand the properties and applications of all materials and our students are given hands-on training as part of their knowledge and skills advancement. An oxy-acetylene torch is a flame torch where two gases are mixed and then ignited to provide heat to enable us to perform a variety of different processes. This video shows how to light the torch and adjust the flow of gasses. • Our metal fabrication workshop is used for the cutting, brazing/welding and assembly of metal prototypes. Students are taught how to safety use hand tools, guillotines and brazing techniques to form and join sheet metal.
