The Inca Empire emerged in the highlands of the Central Andes in about 1400 and covered a vast expanse of territory. • This panel discussion, part of a series of events celebrating the British Museum's current Peru: a journey through time exhibition, will explore the story of the Incas, from their origin through to after the Spanish Conquest, and look at everything from art and monumental architecture to politics and the administration of its Empire. • With a brief introduction by Cecilia Pardo-Grau, Lead Curator of the exhibition, this conversation will be chaired by Bill Sillar, Professor of Archaeology and Technology in Society (UCL) and includes expert guest speakers: • Terence N.
