Today we are travelling with the star train from Austria, consisting of the high-performance locomotive of the 1116 series and a Railjet set of the 1st generation. • To be more precise, we are on the ÖBB Taurus 1116 and are travelling with the Railjet 262 on the high-performance route: Vienna - Vienna Meidling - Tullnerfeld - St. Pölten - Amstetten - Linz. • Under the motto: At high speed through the Tullnerfeld, we are travelling on the new Westbahn today. However, we are only travelling on the high-performance route on the section between Vienna, the Tullnerfeld station and St. Pölten. Have fun with the 4K cab ride on the new Westbahn! • The journey begins in good weather at Vienna Central Station, from there it leads to Vienna Meidling. From now on it goes underground in the Wienerwald tunnel and through the switch hall in Hadersdorf. Unfortunately, the full extent of the underground facilities is not visible in the video, as different routes allow a different perspective. Just a few minutes later we are already at Tullnerfeld station, which offers a connection to the SPNV - local rail passenger transport and the P+R facilities. A little later we reach the city of St. Pölten, where our journey ends for now.
