A composite reconstruction at 3 stages of life, of Ramses The Great, son of Seti, husband of Nefertari and father of over 100 children. • Ramses was born of non-royal blood in the Hyksos capital in the Nile Delta of Avaris. • He was one of the longest living kings, living into his 90s. He built more than any other king. • A Fierce worrier, famed for the Battle of Kadesh. Later in his life, he took a step back from battle to focus of religious roles, leaving his sons in charge of military. • DNA test show that he was indeed red haired. • 9 Pharaohs after him took on his name. • I worked on this reconstruction based off of his Mummy, which I had the pleasure to see in Cairo where I felt very emotional looking at the great king. His mummy is exceptionally well preserved. This is the second recon of Ramses that I have done, the other was a simple profile angle reconstruction. This new one is much more realistic.
