This video shows how to make free bone meal fertilizer for your plants. • Bone Meal is used as an organic fertilizer for plants. As a slow-release fertilizer, bone meal is primarily used as a source of phosphorus and protein. Phosphorus, is an essential nutrient for plants to help them flower and to produce strong roots. • Most bone meal has a NPK of 3-15-0. • The bone meal will release phosphorus into the soil for up to four months. Bone meal is also useful for balancing out other high nitrogen, organic soil amendments. • Bone meal takes time to break down, releasing nutrients into the soil slowly and providing plants with a steady dose of important phosphorous and calcium, instead of a quick burst. Bone meal won't burn plants if you apply too much. Be sure to mix in well with your soil. • The Sparrow Sunshine Gardening Channel focuses on gardening - indoor, outdoor, tips, tricks and DIYs. • Feel free to read my biography on the About tab. • Thanks for watching!
