A female tiger may have two to three cubs survive in the wild and up to six cubs in captivity. The female tiger raises the cubs on her own. Tigers gain independence at two years of age. Ligers are a cross between specifically a male lion and a female tiger. They are a man-made animal and not considered a real species because they would not occur naturally in the wild. Lions are from Africa and tigers are from Asia so there is no reason for their breeding other than human entertainment.The golden lion tamarin is a monogamous primate. A male and a female will bond for life, mating only with each other, and cooperating to rear their family. This strong cub will dictate to his siblings when they should eat, play and rest.
