How to get ANY old 2 stroke engine to Start up. This small 2 stroke engine won't start. This video shows how to get ANY old 2 cycle engine to start up. Tools needed are 1. Carburetor Cleaner https://amzn.to/3dBgSKn 2. Carburetor Adjustment Screwdriver https://amzn.to/2RfVou2 • I end up taking this Old Echo power pruner 1260 pole saw apart to see why it doesn't start. I cleaned and replaced the air filter, spark plug, and carburetor and this 2 stroke still didn't start. • So, I went inside the engine block to see how the piston looked like, and boy was it dirty. It was covered with carbon deposits all over the head. When the piston top is dirty like this, the spark plug won't hold or create a lightening bolt when its time to start your engine. • Here's an important fact - The piston top, cylinder head and spark plug all must be bare metal in order to spark and sustain a lighting bolt for the start-up and run of an engine. If these 3 parts have dry, black carbon build up on all 3, your 2-stroke engine won't start because there's no metal for the lightening bolt to touch. To fix this, just clean these parts lightly with a wire brush to bare metal. • After all this is clean, try starting your 2 stroke engine. I guarantee your machine will crank over immediately.
