Matt gave a testimonial of one of his members who used both the Tango N5 and Tango N4 book in Anki and with just that as his structured study material passed the JLPT N4 with no problem. • • The member mentioned it was due to: Themed chapters and sections so vocabulary was related to each other, example sentences that did not use vocabulary not already introduced, and the sentences progressively introduced and used grammar concepts which allowed him to learn it intuitively without needing to memorize grammar rules directly. • The real selling point that got me to look into these was that the publisher's website has free audio downloads for each book. Looking at the audio and the sample of the contents of the book got me hooked on their potential. I ordered all five books and with help from another am proceeding to turn the first book into a proper Anki deck that I'll share with anyone on my Discord that offers modest proof of ownership. The spreadsheet is almost done, so the Anki deck will not be far behind. It'll be set up to test Audio of word+sentence to comprehension (and ability to write word in Japanese). When I'm done with that, I'll move on to the N4 book. • I'll say this is the best of what Tae Kim and Core 2k/6k can offer without all the drawbacks. Tae Kim has no audio (I had to pay a native to record the sentences for my shared Anki deck) and his example sentences tend to use two or more new words in each. Core 2k's example sentences are not progressive in either grammar or words used in them, and they're not sorted in an optimal or themed order either.
