How to replace alternator in 2009 18L Toyota Corolla

(0:10) Tools needed • (0:40) Remove plastic engine cover • (1:00) Disconnect battery and cables from alternator • (1:55) Loosen tension bolts on top of alternator • (2:50) Remove lower/final bolt on bottom of alternator • (3:25) Pull/wiggle alternator out of vehicle • (3:38) Me blabbing about the alternator • (4:40) Recap on the reinstallation although I didn't show the reinstall. • Replacing the alternator in my 2009 Toyota Corolla with a 1.8L four cylinder motor. I was quoted around $800 at the dealership to have it replaced! This is a fairly easy repair that you can do yourself so if you are hesitant to jump in and try doing your own work check out this video! I attempted to make it as comprehensive as possible but omitted the unnecessary bolt turning portions etc. I spent about $225 for a refurbished alternator at O'reilly Auto parts, after returning the old alternator to get the core charge back. • DISCLAIMER: I am NOT a certified mechanic or an expert on auto repair.
